As part of Singapore Art Week 2023, non-profit organization OH! Open House presented its third edition of it’s For the House; Against the House series. Through a unique debate format where art illustrates the arguments, curator John Tung worked with two private collections to present selected works alongside new commissions from Singapore and international artists to explore the concept The Museum is Dead

The Monsoon Southeast Asia Collection was proud to include Annie Cabigting's diptych, Work No. 127 The Lights Going on and Off, (2014) , Geraldine Javier's sculpture, The Red Tree, (2011) and Grace Tan's wall installation, Stamp Collecting, (2020) to this exhibition, in dialogue with works from Gaston Damag, Priyageetha Dia, and Moe Satt from the Jim Amberson Collection and commissioned pieces by Joanne Lim, Michael Lee, Miguel Aquilizan, Mit Jai Inn, Thitibodee Rungteerawattananon, and Wantanee Siripattananuntakul.

The exhibition reflected on the role of museums as vessels of culture, how museums have shaped the way art is presented and appreciated, and the complicated links between artists, collections, and value. Set in Tanglin Shopping Centre which had been marked for redevelopment, the exhibition also touched on the entanglements between Singapore’s ubiquitous shopping malls and its cultural identity.
