Albert Yonathan Setyawan's solo exhibition, Capturing Silence, runs from 6 October - 5 November 2023 at Jogja National Museum (JNM), Yogyakarta, Indonesia. This survey exhibition of selected works curated by the artist himself, showcases pieces created from 2008 to the present. The Tokyo-based artist primarily works with ceramics, but his artistic practice has also expanded to include mediums such as drawing, video, and performance.

In this exhibition, the artist re-contextualises his body of work by focusing on the materiality of clay as a pivotal aspect to understanding the overall scope of his practice. Setyawan poetically sees the repetitive nature of his work as an act of “capturing silence”.

Monsoon Southeast Asia is pleased that the 5-channel video work, Transitory Nature of Earthly Joy, (2017), which is part of the collection, is included in the artist's survey exhibition at Jogja National Museum.
