Zen Teh is a contemporary artist and art educator whose artistic practice is informed by an interdisciplinary investigation into the impact of human behaviour on nature. In Singapore Landscape Painting, (2012), Teh photographed various nature reserves in Singapore and digitally manipulated the images into a composite that is presented like a Song Dynasty scroll. The topography has been set to the undulations of the music of the Singapore National Anthem as a contemplation of the way human activities have shaped territories and perceptions of territories, even those that are perceived as “wild reserves.”
