Manit Sriwanichpoom is a multidisciplinary artist, creating artworks across photography, performance, video, and painting. His art address political and socio-economic issues of Thailand. A former photo-journalist, he is perhaps best known for his iconic series, “Pink Man,” which critiques contemporary consumerist society. Sriwanichpoom graduated with a BA in Visual Art from the Srinakharinvirot University, Bangkok, Thailand in 1984. He was awarded the Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French Ministry of Culture in 2014 and the Higashikawa Overseas Photographer Prize in 2007. Sriwanichpoom has exhibited worldwide, including the 50th Venice Biennale in 2000 and the 6th Asia Pacific Triennial in 2009. He is collected by the Maison Europeenne de la Photographie (Paris), DG Bank (Germany), ABN-AMRO Bank (Netherlands), Fukuoka Asian Art Museum (Japan), Singapore Art Museum (Singapore), Queensland Art Gallery (Australia), Vehbi Koç Foundation (Turkey) and numerous international private collections.
