Lyle Buencamino (Philippines, b. 1978) is a contemporary artist known for his large-scale paintings based on movie stills from the “Golden Age” of Philippine cinema. His series, No Fighting in the Museum, depicts fight scenes from 1950s classic films produced by the now-defunct LVN Pictures.  This series began as a reflection on propriety and behaviour in institutions and other similar public spaces. Buencamino graduated with a degree in Fine Arts, Major in Painting from the University of the Philippines. He has exhibited in several solo and group shows in the Philippines, Singapore, and Australia.  In 2006, he was a recipient of the prestigious Ateneo Art Awards and was an artist in residence at La Trobe University in Melbourne, Australia.
