Lala Bohang (Indonesia, b. 1985) was born in Makassar and a graduate in Architecture of Parahyangan University in Bandung. Working as a visual artist, writer and illustrator, Bohang has published several best-selling books, The Book of Forbidden Feelings (2016), The Book of Invisible Questions (2017), and The Book of Imaginary Beliefs (2019). Her latest book The Journey of Belonging (2020), a collaboration with Indo-Dutch writer and historian Lara Nuberg awarded with the International Ranald MacDonald Award 2020. She has participated in solo and group exhibitions in Bandung, Jakarta, and Yogyakarta (Indonesia) as well as in Darmstadt (Germany), Sydney (Australia), New York (United States), and Singapore. Bohang has also been invited to participate in  several art and literary conferences and festivals, including Pecha Kucha Jakarta, Jakarta Biennale, Asean Literary Festival, Ideafest, Makassar International Writers Festival, Bandung Readers Festival, and Ubud Writers & Readers Festival.
