For Heman Chong, painting is like learning a language; it requires continued practice and repetition over time. Since 2009, Chong has been creating his Cover (Versions) series of paintings based on novels he has read or someday hopes to read. Resembling book covers, the paintings reflect the artist's seemingly inexhaustible expressions of colour, line, and form.
