Textual Archaeologies

Carina Santos' evocative abstract paintings rely on material, gesture and chance. The pools of colour blend into each other, leaving us to imagine landscapes of moss-covered hills, misty fields, or looming storm clouds. But these evoke inner landscapes as well, expressing through abstract forms her own attempts to make sense of roads not taken or diverging paths that led her elsewhere.
